Traditional Oven

This traditional bread oven is behind a row of farm cottages built in the 1860′s in Bedfordshire. There was one oven and one washhouse to serve the two rows of cottages that make up the hamlet.  The oven chamber is a horse shoe shape with a beautifull herringbone pattern shallow domed roof.
